Department of Humanities and Social Sciences

The department has held and will continue to hold seminars and talks on themes reflecting the concerns of the social sciences but sufficiently general so as to involve the students and other faculty members of the University. The department has been involved in the establishment of the School of Management Sciences and The School of Community Science and Technology. The department carries out research in environmental economics/management, accounting and financial management, human resource management, science and technology, gender studies and other socio-economic fields. It has conducted or has been associated with research projects for the World Bank, SANEI, DST and Water for People. The department has a Ph.D. program with 9 students currently enrolled. The faculty has published a number of research papers and books in their individual fields. The department is equipped with computer facilities and a large collection of books in the Central Library
