Scope, Aims and Objectives

The Indian Journal of Biomechanics is a publication Indian in origin and international in scope which focuses on the rapidly proliferating multidisciplinary domain presently categorized as Biomechanics. It provides researchers in this field with a platform for exchanging ideas and opinions generated by experimental and analytical endeavours. The Indian Journal of Biomechanics appreciates and accepts original articles in the following fields as well as reviews, short communications, surveys, technical briefs and of course letters to the editor:


  • Fundamental researches on all important areas covered by biomechanics e.g. musculoskeletal and cardiovascular biomechanics, biomechanics of tissues and bio-fluids etc.
  • Artificial Organs & Prostheses including Dental Prostheses: their conception, design and analysis
  • Biomechanics for Rehabilitation
  • Cell and Molecular Biomechanics
  • Sports Biomechanics
  • Biomechanics of Injury and injury prevention & safety design
  • Human-Machine Interface including Ergonomics


The journal is available as hard copies and all published materials are also archived as soft copies in downloadable formats.
