    1. To promote awareness amongst different targeted communities about the role of science & technology in solving environmental, health and developmental problems. Awareness and training programs related to science, technology and environment would be initiated, encouraged, supported and implemented.
    2. Searching for solutions that people and communities can implement themselves by continuously developing scientific & technological know-how through rigorous research using University’s infra-structural facilities — academia to community transfer of scientific and technological knowledge.
    3. Development of positive long-term relationships that will contribute to collect, preserve, disseminate, and upgrade (if necessary) the scientific and technical information and knowledge of traditional communities, thereby reviewing priorities in research and development — community to academia transfer of knowledge.
    4. Promote interdisciplinary research and education within the school to encourage better understanding of community related environmental issues.
    5. Provide strategic leadership and direction in the innovation and cost-effective use of modern scientific & technical methods to improve the efficiency of government program delivery and administration at the community level.
    6. Integrate efforts across the natural, social and engineering sciences, the environment and development communities, multiple sectors of human activity, geographic and temporal scales and, more generally, the worlds of knowledge and action.
    7. To investigate the key ethical issues related to the implementation of modern technologies with regards to moral and ethical obligations of different communities.
    8. Re-evaluation of economic priorities, and development of infrastructure and economic potential to foster science and technology in accordance with the immediate and long-term needs of the communities.
    9. Science education, at all levels of a community is to be revamped, and with gender equity, so as to establish an atmosphere which will enhance the nation’s capacity and capability to develop and sustain basic and applied sciences, toward meeting the needs of the twenty-first century.
